Volunteers are always needed!
The Southside SPCA has approximately 50 committed volunteers who spend time on a regular basis working with the Southside SPCA in many different ways. Since the Southside SPCA opened, euthanasia rates in county pounds within the service area have fallen from nearly 100% in 1975 to roughly 58% currently - due almost exclusively to the work of the Southside SPCA. While this sounds like a large number of volunteers, our service area includes 12 Counties, some of which have few or no volunteers.
Plenty of ways to help
No special skills, or large blocks of time are necessary. Call Sandy Wyatt at the shelter if you would like to help. Or email the shelter and include Volunteer in the subject note.
