If you are interested in any of the dogs or would like to inquire about a specific kind of dog, please contact the shelter.
We hold dog adoptions at PETSMART, 1276 Car Mia Way in Richmond (off Midlothian Turnpike between Johnston-Willis Hospital and Chesterfield Towne Center) every Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Adoptions at the shelter are by appointment only.
Have a secure area?
No dog will be adopted to a home that does not have a secure area (preferably a crate) for the dog to be in when the adopters are not at home. A newly adopted dog does not understand why he is in your home. Until he learns to trust you and understands that your home is his, there is a strong possibility that he will try to get free and run back to the shelter, which he knows as his home.
